Montessori Cooking Knives

Using real knives builds confidence and helps with independence. It gives children a sense of responsibility. It helps develop fine motor skills.

Children as young as 18 months old can be given a butter or jam knife for spreading condiments. Then they move on to chopping soft fruits like bananas. Eventually the child graduates to a serrated knife.
